Provides support for and guidance to the Fairfax County director of the Department of Family Services (DFS) to provide and array of quality safety net programs that meet the basic needs of vulnerable residents.
Oversees the establishment and operation of services for people in the City of Falls Church, the City of Fairfax, and Fairfax County who have mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Provides leadership in preventing and ending homelessness in the Fairfax-Falls Church community. The CoC Board acts on behalf of the “Continuum of Care”, which is a partnership of representatives from organizations in the Fairfax-Falls Church community with an interest and role serving people experiencing, or at-risk of, homelessness.
Studies long-term care in Fairfax County, the City of Falls Church, and the City of Fairfax to develop a strategic plan to meet the critical challenges that demographic changes will bring to the community.
