Q: What do you like most about your position?
A: I enjoy interacting with the public. It was one of the aspects of the job I was interested in when applying for the job. I have been able to get to know a lot more people who live around me.

Q: What's a recent project or task that you've worked on that you're either particularly proud of or enjoyed contributing to?
A: When it was time for our office to relocate for the City Hall renovation project, we had to move out of 300 Park Ave. on a Friday and set up everything at 400 N. It was a hectic couple of days, but I was proud of how our team came together to make the move as efficient as possible with minimal disruption to our services.

RitaQ&A with Rita Griffith

Senior Revenue Assistant (Commissioner of the Revenue)

Q: How long have you worked with the City?
A: Twenty Years

Q: Where do you live?
A: Falls Church, Fairfax County

Q: What's your favorite Falls Church restaurant?
A: Anthony's

Q: What's your favorite City-wide special event?
A: Memorial Day Parade and Festival

Q: Do you have a favorite building or landmark in Falls Church?
A: Cherry Hill Park

Q: What do you like most about your position?
A: I enjoying helping and assisting the City residents and City Business Owners with various tasks, such as registering residents' vehicles for personal property taxes, reviewing state income tax returns and processing them for residents, and helping helping with businesses with Tangible Personal Property regulations.

Q: What's a recent project or task that you've worked on that you're either particularly proud of or enjoyed contributing to?
A: Part of my job is helping residents with state income tax assistance. Recently, while I was working on state tax returns, I found state income tax money that was owed to several taxpayers in the City. I contacted the Virginia Department of Taxation on their behalf and since March and April of this year, I've helped eight City residents collect over $7,000 owed to them in past returns. It makes me smile to see them smile, and that's one of the reasons I like working for the City of Falls Church.
