Collection After Storms

Federal Emergency Declaration
In the event of damaging storms, the city manager may consider waiving the bundled brush policy if a Federal Emergency is declared. A Federal Emergency Declaration enables the City to recoup costs associated with unbundled brush pick up and tonnage fees associated with disposal.

The day following a large storm, the homepage of the City website and the Solid Waste Hotline (703-248-5160, option 5) will contain information regarding brush fees and whether or not they apply. If the policy is not waived, call for a special bulk collection ($75 per 2 cubic yards of material) or self-haul material, for a fee, to the Fairfax County Transfer Station:
4618 W. Ox Road
Fairfax, VA 22030

Call 703-248-5160 (TTY 711) for more information.
