Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service in which books, copies of journal articles, and other library materials not in the MRSPL collection are borrowed from other libraries. Falls Church residents and employees with valid library cards are eligible for this service. Items published within the last year, reference, e-formats, and items on video, DVD, CD, or cassette, are typically not loaned through ILL by most libraries and therefore may be difficult to obtain for library patrons.
Email Interlibrary Loan Requests
Fill out our Interlibrary Loan Request Form. Then save it to your desktop and email it as an attachment. Requests can also be made in person or by phone through the Reference Desk by calling 703-248-5035.
For additional information call 703-248-5035 or send an email.
Effective January 3, 2014, all ILL users will be charged a $4 postage fee, payable at pickup, for each item that must be returned to the lender. MRSPL staff will make every effort to obtain materials free of charge. If there are any charges applied by the lending library, patrons are responsible for those fees. Patrons will be notified of any fees (generally between $5 and $20) before the ILL request is submitted.
Fess for Articles
ILL articles that are delivered to Mary Riley Styles Public Library (MRSPL) by email will be forwarded to the requesting patron free of charge. A print copy, however, can be provided for $0.15 per page.
Overdue fines for ILL materials are $1 per day per item.
ILL users may have up to 5 active requests at a time.
