The Commonwealth of Virginia passed new legislation that seeks to inform families about state regulated family child care providers and the importance of regulated child care. Locally regulated, the City of Falls Church/Fairfax County permitted family child care providers have already committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for the children and families in their care.
The Virginia Department of Social Services is requesting Family Home Day Care Providers provide any new families that enroll in their programs, information about state licensed programs. It also explains to families that at this time, the current permitted providers that take care of five or fewer children, are not required by state law to have a state license. More information
