Cherry Hill Playground Closed

Closed Sign

The construction phase of the Cherry Hill Park Playground Equipment Replacement project has started. The existing playground is now closed and is slated to reopen in January 2018. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be scheduled for the spring.

The project provides a safe, accessible, and exciting new playground at the City's most popular park. New playground features will introduce equipment appealing to older children (including an Omnitri Net), more swingsets, and an accessible pathway between from the parking lot to the playground area, which will be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant.

The public can stay updated on project developments by checking the project web page (www.fallschurchva.gov/CherryHillPark) and following the City on social media. Download the Project Flyer (PDF) for more details on the future playground's design.

The project is managed out of the City's Department of Public Works by Principal Engineer Jason Widstrom, who can be reached at 703-248-5026 (TTY 711) or via email at jwidstrom@fallschurchga.gov for questions related to construction and project timeline. Questions about the project's history and new playground design, please contact the Recreation and Parks Department at 703-248-5027 (TTY 711).
