The City of Falls Church offers a number of volunteer opportunities throughout the year, from one-time park clean-up days to long-term mentoring local students. Click on the links below for more information.

1-2-1 Mentoring ProgramAdults are matched with middle school students to provide a positive role-model, friend, coach, and guide. Meet Thursdays after school. Managed by the City's Alliance for Youth and Northern Virginia Family Service.
Aurora HouseMentors and tutors for residents (girls age 13-17)
Bingo Caller at the Senior CenterCall out the numbers for weekly Wednesday Bingo, a popular activity at the Senior Center, located in the Community Center.
Block CaptainsA Block Captain's primary responsibility is to distribute the Environment Newsletter.
Boards and CommissionsCity residents are needed to serve on boards and commissions, like the Architectural Advisory Board, the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Transportation, the Environmental Services Council, the Tree Commission, and more.

Community Spring and Fall Clean-UpsJoin in the fun to make the City beautiful! In the spring and fall, volunteers work together to clean up the City. City Staff provides trash pickers, trash bags, recycling bags, gloves, and reflective vests. Perfect for community groups, church groups, families, or individuals.

Habitat Restoration and Invasive Weed Removal Restore the local ecosystem in City parks including removal of invasive vegetation and replanting with native species.

Mary Riley Styles Public LibraryYouth and adult opportunities: processing materials, repairing books, inventorying the collection, scanning photographs, shelving materials, sorting donations, assisting with the ongoing library book sale.
Neighborhood Tree PlantingJoin your neighbors to plant trees around the City.

Recycling Extravaganza Onsite HelpOnsite help is needed for the twice-a-year Recycling Extravaganza! Help the Public Works Dept. sort clothing, inventory bikes, direct traffic, and more.
RISE Mentoring ProgramBe a positive role models for teens of the City of Falls Church's Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, as well as the young women currently residing in the Aurora House group home.
