Senior Center

Senior Center The Recreation & Parks Division offers a consolidated program of activities including hot lunches, social activities, and recreation programs for area seniors at the Senior Center located in the Community Center. Transportation is available for City residents. A donation for transportation and lunch is requested, based on income.

Seniors ages 65 and older who are residents of the City of Falls Church receive a 50 percent discount on classes, except where noted.


Senior Center CLOSED Week of August 30
The Falls Church Community Center and Senior Center will be closed the week of August 30 and will reopen on Tuesday, September 7. All activities, trips and lunches will be cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Italian Conversation Group is BACK!!
Come join us on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. in the Senior Center for an informal discussion group. Some Italian conversation knowledge is preferred. The group will meet weekly. Please call 703-248-5020 for more information.

2010 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics!
The 2010 Senior Olympics will be held September 18-29 and is open to residents 50 years and older. The Opening Ceremony, track events, and free health fair will take place on September 18. All other events will take place September 20-29 including bocci and fencing (NEW!). For more information please visit www.nvso.us or call the Senior Center at 703-248-5020.
 
A refresher-driving course for licensed drivers aged 50 & older. This course will review the different processes of driving for the older driver. A certificate will be issued at completion of the two day course, which can be submitted to insurance companies. The state of Virgina mandates a discount in car insurance. Please make checks payable to "AARP."

Class Dates: September 16 & 17, 2010
Time: Class meets on both days from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Fees: $12 AARP Members
         $14 Non-AARP Members
