The City of Falls Church is developing a Pedestrian, Bicycle and Traffic Calming Strategic Implementation Plan, referred to as the "Ped Plan." Below you can find the documents, presentations, goals, and ways citizens can become involved.

As part of this project, the City hosted an interative online tool to receive citizen input for this plan. The results have been tallied and summarized. To view the results visit this page.
Plan Goals- Create a well-connected walkway system
- Afford accessibility for all pedestrians
- Provide safe streets and crossings
- Promote a culture of walking and biking
- Identify continuous sustained funding, tools, and leadership for implementing pedestrian and bicycle improvements
The final deliverables for the project will include a Pedestrian, Bicycle, and Traffic Calming Strategic Implementation Plan, an American With Disabilities Act Compliance Plan, and a Safe Routes to School Plan. Two citizen advisory groups (the Pedestrian Bicycle Traffic Calming Committee and the Safe Routes to School Advisory Committee) are working City staff on this project. Safe Routes to School Plan
The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Travel Plan and application have been prepared as part of the Pedestrian, Bicycle and Traffic Calming Strategic Implementation Plan. This City Council endorsed the City's application at their March 14, 2011 meeting. The City has submitted the application to VDOT. The larger Ped Bike project is still in progress. See the presentation from the March 3 public meeting for more information.
How to Get Involved- Community Meetings. The public will be invited to attend public meetings to learn about project status and to provide comments. Information on future public meetings will be posted here as it becomes available.
