Ring in the New Year with FREE family-friendly festivities at the 14th Annual Watch Night New Year's Eve Celebration in the City of Falls Church. With events and entertainment both indoors and outdoors, The Little City's celebration is unique because it is free and open-to-the-public.

The City of Falls Church government, businesses, organizations, churches, civic groups and many, many committed volunteers come together to throw what The Washington Post Express called "the coolest New Year's Eve event" for families in the Metro area.

This year's Watch Night theme is Big Night in the Little City. The event is unique not only for featuring our amazing local talent, but also because of the enormous volunteer network that makes it possible. (See our list of supporters and sponsors below!)

Highlights include:
  • Free Shuttle Bus every 30 minutes from East Falls Church Metro Station to all venues, running from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Seven live bands
  • Indoor and Outdoor venues
  • Firepits for warming
  • 20 piece Orchestra, Swing Dancing
  • 12-foot tall Dragon
  • Karaoke Stage
  • DJ Dance
  • Victorian Photo Studio
  • Caricaturist
  • Face Painters
  • Balloon Artists
  • Free Popcorn, Hot Chocolate, and Soup while supplies last

  • Firepits for warming
  • New Year's Eve Vendor

No Watch Night would be complete without the traditional New Year's countdown spectacular, including the lowering of the historic star that first lit the Falls Church sky in 1948 (the year Falls Church became an independent city).
