Office of Voter Registration and Elections
Welcome to the Office of Voter Registration and Elections. See information below and links to the right regarding upcoming elections, voter registration, absentee voting, and more.
Redistricting:
Recent: Voters in districts that have been affected by changes due to redistricting received new voter registration cards. The new voter registration cards reflect the changes that the Virginia General Assembly passed regarding the decennial redistricting process. Specifically, the whole of the City of Falls Church has been redistricted into State Senate District 35 (previously in 31).
Ward Changes: The Electoral Board and Registrar advocated the City Council to reduce the Voting Wards from 5 to 3. The City Council passed the ordinance and we are now waiting approval from the Department of Justice. When that approval is received, we will send out new voter cards to everyone affected by this redistricting process. Until we get approval and mail the voter registration cards, we will continue to operate with 5 Wards.
Upcoming Changes: The Virginia General Assembly has yet to finalize the congressional redistricting process. When that is finished, depending on the outcome, voters in districts that have been affected by changes will receive new voter cards.
When you receive your new voter registration card you may destroy your old voter registration card.
