According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV), "one in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime." At any given time, an adult or child can experience the devastating effects of domestic violence. There are places to turn and go for assistance while seeking a safe environment and breaking the cycle of domestic violence. Down payment and closing cost assistance, up to 20% of the purchase price of a home, is available to low and medium income first time homebuyers to purchase homes in the City of Falls Church. The program is funded using the City Falls Church Affordable Housing Fund and is administered by the City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services. Assistance is in the form of a "second" mortgage, no interest loan. Income may not exceed 120% of the area median income and priority is given to individuals who live or work in the City.
