Members
As set forth in the Council Resolution, the committee is to be composed of two School Board members, two City Council members, one Planning Commission member, and one Economic Development Authority member. Support shall be provided by the City Manager and School Superintendent. The current members are:

- Michael Novotny, Member, Economic Development Authority
Overview
This committee formed after the
Campus Joint Process Planning Committee concluded its work with the
Campus Planning Road Map. The Steering Committee was formed by
Council resolution 2014-16 in June 2014.
Purpose
Per highlights in the resolution, the purpose of the Steering Committee is as follows:
- ...to work with City and School staff to help guide the overall planning effort, ensure that it is conducted in an open and effective manner, and provide recommendations to and facilitate coordinated decisions by the two governing bodies of the School Board and City Council, as well as the other Boards and Commissions of the City that have a role in this planning effort; and
- The public will be continuously informed of the status of the planning process and the opportunities for input and participation, and the Joint Steering Committee shall provide a written status report to the City Council and School Board on a monthly basis; and
- The Joint Steering Committee shall sunset on December 31, 2015, unless extended by resolution of the City Council and the City School Board.
