Grant recipients are required to use the funds by September 30, 2022 and to submit a final report of how funds were spent by October 31, 2022.

Alternatively, grant recipients may drop off their completed form Monday-Friday from 8 am – 5 pm at the Permits Counter in City Hall (300 Park Ave., Suite 103 East, Falls Church, VA 22046). To submit the form via email, applicants must print out the form, fill it out, scan it, and send it to EDO@fallschurchva.gov.
The City of Falls Church Economic Development Office (EDO) and Economic Development Authority (EDA) is proud to announce the recipients of the two rounds of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grants for Small Businesses and Non-Profits. Eligible businesses received $5,000 to help with urgent expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The EDO and EDA created the program to acknowledge the negative financial impact of COVID-19 on many City businesses and to show and give support to the community. Businesses can use the grant for expenses directly related to the impacts of COVID-19 including retaining and/or supporting employees, rent, paying vendor invoices, and other business operating costs.
A total of 158 applications were submitted during both rounds of the grant program, and 63 were eligible for the grant. During the first round of the program, eligibility requirements included being located in the City, having gross receipts of $50,000 to $1,000,000, having 50 or fewer employees, and more. During the second round of the program, eligibility requirements were expanded and businesses with gross receipts of $30,000 to $1,000,000 and operating prior to or on January 1, 2019 were eligible to apply.
*These businesses received $10,000 between both rounds. Businesses who received a grant in the previous round were eligible to apply for another grant in the second round.

The second round of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) $5,000 Grant for Small Businesses and Non-Profits has updated eligibility requirements! Your business or non-profit mat now be eligible if you previously received city, state, or federal financial assistance including Economic Development Authority (EDA) micro grants or PPP loans.
