COVID-19 Update: Recreation and Parks Programs and FacilitiesThe Community Center is open for programming but remains closed to the general public/drop-in use. Only staff and registered program participants are currently permitted in the Falls Church Community Center at this time. The Senior Center and Teen Center also remain closed for drop-in use. Open gym is available on select dates/times and pre-registration is required. This is currently only available to City residents and is limited to one household per basket. Click here for additional details and to register. Registration is open for a variety of indoor, outdoor, and virtual programs that are available this Winter/Spring. The program guide includes events, classes, youth sports, and outdoor and virtual senior programs. For information on the health and safety precautions, visit our Frequently Asked Questions. Camp programs are planned for FCCPS Professional Days and seasonal breaks. A listing of programs and additional information can be found on our School Breaks Camp page. 2021 Summer camp information will be available by March 1. Registration will open March 8 for City of Falls Church residents and March 15 to everyone. All City parks and amenities are open. The City of Falls Church Recreation and Parks Department does not have the resources to disinfect park equipment and facilities to eradicate tracings of COVD-19. The best ways to avoid contracting or spreading COVID-19 are to wear a face covering, stay six feet from others, wash your hands often, and stay home if you are sick.

We are accepting and processing picnic shelter rentals. At this time, we are not permitting any indoor rentals. Learn more about booking a picnic shelter here. The City has extended the Temporary Commercial Activity Permit program to August 31, 2021. The Cherry Hill Farmhouse is currently closed to the general public. Visit the Cherry Hill Farmhouse virtually for museum at-home activities or take a virtual tour.

The Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and fostering a sense of community by providing superior recreational, educational and cultural services and through the effective maintenance and protection of the City's natural resources.
