The rezoning requests to amend the City's Official Zoning District Map from T-1, transitional district to B-1, limited business district and the special exception request is for a building height bonus of 23 feet. The City's Adopted Comprehensive Plan - Future Land Use Plan Map (2005) designates the subject property as mixed-use and the adopted North Washington Street (Area Plan), Planning Opportunity Area 1, (2012) recommends medium density for future redevelopment. The application is tentatively scheduled for an initial public presentation at the joint City Council / Planning Commission work session on the evening of Monday, November 19, 2012, at City Hall.
A formal public review process will be initiated by the City Council at a future meeting and in due course require formal action by the City Council, with a mandatory recommendation from the Planning Commission. Future public meetings, work sessions and public hearings will be noticed on associated agendas and when required advertised, according to law.
