Interlibrary Loan services will be suspended starting Friday, June 25, as we prepare to move back into our renovated library. Returns will be accepted using curbside service until we close the trailers. Interlibrary Loan requests will be accepted once we reopen to the public. Renovation update...
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service through which books, copies of journal articles, and other library materials not in the MRSPL collection can be borrowed from other libraries.
To request an ILL, you must either be (a) a resident of the City of Falls Church or (b) an employee of the City of Falls Church government or schools. If you live outside the City of Falls Church proper (Fairfax County, Arlington, etc), you must submit ILL requests through your home library system.
Please keep in mind that items published within the last year, reference collections, e-formats, and items on video, DVD, CD, or cassette are typically not loaned through ILL by most libraries and therefore may be difficult to obtain.
Submit an ILL Request
Iterlibrary loan requests may be submitted several ways:
Submit your request to our Reference Desk either in person or by telephone at 703-248-5035 (TTY 711).
Return Postage Fee
All ILL users will be charged a $4 postage fee, payable at pickup, for each item that must be returned to the lending library. MRSPL staff will make every effort to obtain materials free of any additional charges. If there are any charges applied by the lending library, patrons are responsible for those fees. Patrons will be notified of any fees (generally between $5 and $20) before the ILL request is submitted.
Printing Fess for Articles
ILL articles that are delivered to Mary Riley Styles Public Library (MRSPL) by email will be forwarded to the requesting patron free of charge. A print copy, however, can be provided for $0.15 per page.
Overdue fines for ILL materials are $1 per day per item.
ILL users may have up to 5 active requests at a time.
For additional information, please call 703-248-5035 (TTY 711) or send us an email. You can also submit questions using our online Contact Us form.
