Welcome to the Senior Center

 The Recreation and Parks Department offers a consolidated program of activities including social activities, recreation programs and trips for area seniors at the Senior Center located in the Community Center. The Falls Church Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 0am-3pm. 

To participate in any Senior Center programs, you must officially join the Senior Center as a member. Please call the Senior Center at 703-249-5020 or the Front Desk at 703-248-5027 to register. Free for City of Falls Church residents and $12 for non city residents. Membership runs September 1-August 31.

Preregistration is required for all programs.

Virtual Programs and Activities

Foreign Language Conversation Groups

All groups are looking for new members. Some knowledge of the language is expected. These are not teaching classes. Informal groups meet weekly on Zoom.

  • German Conversation: (volunteer facilitator needed!)
  • Spanish Conversation: Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
  • Italian Conversation: Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
  • French conversation: Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Military History

Join Military History Coordinator Ron Markiewicz every other Friday at 10 a.m. in the Senior Center. Please call the Senior Center at 703-248-5020 (TTY 711) for more information. Group takes a summer hiatus and will resume the Friday after Labor day.

New Yorker Discussion Group

Join our monthly New Yorker reading group to share your thoughts on what you’ve read in a variety of articles. The group meets Virtually on the first Thursday of the month from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Mary Riley Styles Librarian Pete Sullivan leads the discussion. Contact him at for more information and to join the group. 

Armchair Travel

See the world from the comfort of your chair. Join us on the third Thursday at 10 a.m. to watch a video about a different part of the world. The group meets in the Teen Center of the Community Center. This program is brought to you by the Falls Church Senior Center and Mary Riley Styles Public Library.  Program takes a summer hiatus and will resume in September.

Open Pickleball

Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30am-12:30pm

Cavalier Courts (600 S Maple Ave., Falls Church).
