Join the City of Falls Church at one of our several in-person, outdoor events and activities this fall. Guests are encouraged to wear a mask and stay home if feeling unwell. This list may be updated. 

Sunset Cinema

Friday, September 24 and Friday, October 1, 7:45 p.m., Cherry Hill Park (312 Park Ave.)

Bring a blanket, picnic dinner, and enjoy a free outdoor screening of Cars (PG, 2006) on September 24 and A League of Their Own (PG, 1992) on October 1. 

Recycling Extravaganza

Saturday, October 2, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Recycling Center (217 Gordon Rd.)

City of Falls Church residents can drop off hard to recycle materials - such as electronics, hazardous household waste (HHW), and shredded paper - and donate usable items at this annual recycling event. Proof of City of Falls Church residency required. Visit www.fallschurchva.gov/RE for a list of accepted and unaccepted materials. 

Fall Community Clean-up

Saturday, October 2, 10:00 a.m. to noon, meet at Community Center (223 Little Falls St.)

Volunteers are assigned to clean up certain areas around the City. Staff provides trash pickers, trash bags, recycling bags, gloves, and reflective vests. Perfect for community groups (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.), church groups, families, or individuals. Volunteers must wear a mask and wear clothes that can get dirty. 

Farm Day

Saturday, October 9, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Cherry Hill Farmhouse (312 Park Ave.)

Enjoy a day of old fashioned fun and activities for the whole family, including a petting farm, pony rides, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making (bring your own long pants and a sleeved shirt), live music, tours of the Cherry Hill Farmhouse and barn, blacksmith demonstrations, and more. It's free to attend. Some activities have a small fee (cash only). 

Halloween Carnival

Saturday, October 30, noon to 5:00 p.m., outside Community Center (223 Little Falls St.)

The spooky fun for ghouls and goblins ages 2-11 returns this year - at a new time and outdoor location. Stay tuned for more details!
